This is a 2026 list of Houston truck accident law firms with offices in Houston, Katy and Sugar Land. Each firm publishes an 18-wheeler or truck accident practice on its own website. In addition, Texas has its own rules on fault, deadlines and claims against cities, so these cases work differently from a New Jersey or New York crash.
The 17 Houston truck accident law firms below each have at least one Houston-area office, a truck or 18-wheeler accident page on their own website, and plaintiff-side injury work. They are also grouped by area: downtown and inside the Loop, the Galleria and west Houston, and Fort Bend, Katy and north Houston.
Onal Injury Law publishes this page and is listed first. However, the numbers are only there to help you move around the page. They are not a ranking, and no firm paid to be included.
We grouped the Houston truck accident law firms by where their offices are, because Houston is large and traffic makes distance matter. Each entry also uses only facts the firm publishes about itself, and references to board certification mean certification by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization as stated by each firm. In other words, we did not score or rate any firm.

A Houston truck case mixes Texas injury law with federal trucking rules. As a result, several deadlines and damage rules can apply at once. These points are simplified, and your own deadline depends on your facts.
First, most Texas injury and wrongful death lawsuits must be filed within two years.
For a city truck, the Houston charter requires written notice within 90 days. Other government units generally get six months under the Tort Claims Act, and damages against them are also capped.
You can recover if you were not more than 50% responsible. However, any award is reduced by your percentage of responsibility.
The at-fault driver's insurer pays. In addition, Texas auto policies include at least $2,500 in PIP unless you rejected it in writing.
Medical damages are limited to what was actually paid or incurred, not the full billed amount. For that reason, how bills are paid can affect the claim.
Interstate drivers may drive up to 11 hours within a 14-hour window, and carriers only have to keep driver logs for six months. Texas also applies safety rules to many in-state carriers.
A major freight corridor linking Houston to San Antonio and Louisiana.
The Southwest Freeway runs through Sugar Land and also carries freight toward the border.
These routes connect the Port of Houston, the Ship Channel and Galveston to the rest of the region.
Distribution centers along these loops also send heavy truck traffic into suburban roads.
These questions work for every one of the Houston truck accident law firms on this page, including ours.
First, ask how quickly the firm puts the carrier on notice to keep driver logs, dash camera footage and engine data.
If so, ask who will send the notice and when. The City of Houston's 90-day deadline is also much shorter than the two-year lawsuit deadline.
Texas requires contingency fee contracts to be in writing. For that reason, ask for the percentage in writing, including whether it changes if a lawsuit is filed.
Also ask whether the attorney you meet will be the one working your file.
Finally, ask whether the attorney or staff will speak with you directly or through an interpreter.
Most people have two years under Tex. Civ. Prac. & Rem. Code § 16.003. However, if a City of Houston vehicle was involved, written notice is due within 90 days.
Texas uses a 51% bar. In other words, you can recover if you were 50% or less responsible, and your award is reduced by your share.
Besides the driver, possible defendants include the trucking company, the trailer owner, a broker, the shipper or loader, a maintenance shop and a parts maker. Which ones apply also depends on what caused the crash.
Most injury firms work on contingency, and Texas requires the contract to be in writing. Also ask how case expenses are handled before you sign.
Yes. Several firms on this list offer Spanish, and Onal Injury Law also represents clients in Turkish. Türkçe bilgi için buraya tıklayın.
We think people choose better when they can compare. That is why we list ourselves first and say so plainly, describe other firms only with facts they publish, and correct any entry a firm asks us to fix.

This list is not the product of an independent rating organization, and no firm paid for, requested or approved inclusion.
